he New York Times recently reported that the cost of owning a car has never been higher. In June the average purchase price for a new car topped $48,000 for the first time, due to inflation and ongoing supply chain issues. The average monthly payment for a new car is now approximately $700, due to higher car prices and rising interest rates as the Federal Reserve battles inflation.

City leaders in Clearfield broke ground Monday on a major project they hope will serve as a new community center that encourages more people to get around without driving.

Clearfield and the UTA are now ready to embark on a massive project that will drastically change the city in the next two decades as it prepares for its next century of existence.

Our state and nation face a variety of immediate challenges that consume most of our attention. Some of these issues are highly controversial and partisan in nature. But as we spend time on these political issues, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that the biggest and most consequential issue Utah must grapple with is rapid growth.
